Nancy is the diminutive for Ann
and vice versa. Polly is the diminutive for Mary. In effect,
Polly/Nancy is indicating two different people unless her name
happened to be Mary Ann. Lemuel is the Jewish / biblical
version of Samuel, and more ancient.
