County

In 1655 Cople Parish was given a gift of one acre to erect a new church on the 'east bank of Nomini Creek' by Youell Watkins.  His stipulation was that it be built on the gravesites of his ancestors and Grandfather, Thomas Youell.

The original Wright Family Cemetery at Cabin Point was protected by a writ in the Westmoreland County Record Books that 'Under the laws of Virginia this burial ground of the Wright Family could not be sold by any Wright when selling land surrounding it.' The gravesite has since been destroyed.

Bray's [Leeds] Church, circa 1706.  Leedstown.  Remains of the original foundation can still be seen in this once thriving colonial port.  Unknown & undocumented amount of interments in the cemetery.
