The church, on the site of one of the earliest Christian places of worship in the New World, began as a wooden chapel built in 1655 & was replaced in 1706 with the present structure. Membership included many of the early famous families of Virginia, including Washington, Lee & Carter. A National Historic Landmark, the church is located off Rt 606 near Hague.
