Thomas
Gerrard landed in Maryland in 1638. In
1659 Dr. Gerrard removed to Virginia on Machodoc
Creek, when he was
harangued
by a Jesuit Missionary. In 1670 he
arranged with his neighbors to build a
banqueting house.
Dr. Gerrard
wrote his will February 5, 1672, and died
testate in 1673.
Annie
Leacy, born October 30, 1858, died July 1,
1925, married August 4, 1886, Frank Beckwith,
born July 25, 1848, attorney-at-law and Judge of
the Circuit Court, Charles Town, West Virginia,
the great-great-grandson of Sir Jonathan
Beckwith, Baronet, of Bleak Hall,
Westmoreland County, Virginia, oldest son of
Sir Marmaduke Beckwith, the first of the
name to come to Virginia.
