Fleet William Cox, October 19, 1824 - March 17, 1888, (buried Yeocomico Episcopal Church) was married twice.  His first wife was Sarah Elizabeth Muse, January 14, 1828 – February 27, 1857.  They had one child:

William Downing Cox, April 7, 1855 – July 9, 1857.

Fleet William Cox, (Lt. Col. 40th VA Inf., CSA) married for a second time, after the Civil War, to Mary Elizabeth Turner, September 27, 1838 – May 14, 1890, from St. Charles County, Maryland, to whom he wed on July 22, 1865.  They had five children:

Eliza Violetta Lillian 'Lilly' Cox, August 31, 1866 – November 29, 1944, who, on October 15, 1896 married Benjamin Brown Atwill, CSA, born on July 22, 1844 – died December 18, 1918, and buried at Yeocomico Episcopal Church.

Fleet W. Cox, Jr., February 4, 1868 – January 7, 1927; died unmarried.

Rev. James Henry Cox II, October 10, 1870 – December 18, 1904, married Annie Stanton Murphy.

Samuel Downing Cox, September 29, 1872 – November 27, 1915, married Elizabeth Marbury Collyer (nee Taylor).  He is buried at Yeocomico Episcopal Church.

Gerard Dudley Cox I, June 20, 1876 – December ?, 1962, married Marie Josephine Cooke.

Member Of Baltimore Bar Who Died In Washington‎
On January 8 1927 in Washington DC, at the home of his sister-in-law--Mr. Fleet W. Cox Attorney, born Westmoreland county, Virginia, February 4, 18__. He was the son of the late Col. Fleet W. Cox, of the Confederate Army, and Mrs. Mary Elizabeth... He entered the University of Maryland Law School, from which he was graduated.  Found In Room Overcome By Carbon Monoxide Gas.   ...in the room and then flickered out.  He is survived by a brother Dudley Cox and a sister Lillian...  Burial will be in the family cemetery at Hague, Va.
