To all
christian people to whom these presents shall come-Greeting,
Know ye that I, John Wright of the parish of Copley in the
County of Westmorld blacksmith for and in consideration of the
natural love and affection which I have and bear unto my beloved
God son John Blundell son of Thomas and Hester Blundell of the
parish and County aforesaid have given, granted, aliened and
confirmed and for divers other considerations me thereunto
especially moving by these presents do give, grant, alien and
confirm unto my said God son John Blundell and his heirs in fee
baile forever one hundred acres of land lying and being in the
said County of Westmorld beginning at a marked white oak
standing in the line of the land of Andrew Read dec'd being
corner tree to the land of Thomas Blundell the elder, and near
the swamp from thence to the swamp between the said John Wright
and Thomas Blundel and so up the said swamp binding on the same
till it comes to the main road that leads from John Wrights
dwelling house up Westmorld County and so binding on Capt
Gerrard Hutts land till it compleats and makes up a hundred
acres of land together with all houses out houses, orchards,
woods and underwoods, way waters and water courses, with all and
singular other the profits benefit commodities, hereditaments
and appurtenances whatsoever until the same belonging to or in
any wise appertaining to him the said John Blundell and his
heirs forever. To Have and to Hold the said one hundred acres
of land and premises and every part & parcel thereof together
with all and singular, the houses, out houses, orchards, gardens
woods, underwoods ways, waters, water courses, profits,
commodities, hereditaments and appurtenances unto the same
belonging or in any wise appertaining to him my said God son Jno
Blundel and his heirs in fee baile forever to the only proper
use of him my said Godson John Blundel and his heirs in fee
baile forevermore and the said John Wright doth hereby covenant
promise and grant for himself and his heirs that the said one
hundred acres of land and premises shall remain and be free and
clear from the claim and claims of his the said John Wright, his
heirs and assigns and from the claim and claims of any person or
persons whatsoever, by his or their means, consent or
procurement. In Witness & confirmacon(sic) of all and singular

Westmor'ld: S S At a court held for the said
County the 26th day of November 1707. John Wright abovenamed
acknowledged the above deed of gift of land to John Blundel to
be his proper act and deed and the land and premises thereby
mentioned to be conveyed given to the said John Blundel to the
just right and inheritance of him the said John Blundel his
heirs in fee baile forever. Test

NOTE:
This deed establishes the existence of John Wright, Blacksmith
as father of Hester Wright, who married Thomas Blundell, and
which marriage produced a son John Blundell, representing three
generations covered by this deed. The use of the words God son
in that time frame was common when describing one's grandson.
