Att a Court of Oyer and Terminer held at the courthouse of Westmoreland County on Thursday the Twenty Sixth day of May in the year of our Lord One Thousand Seven Hundred and Seventy Eight for the Trial of Kitt a Negro Man Slabe the property of the Honble Robert Carter, Esq. for having forcibly and against her Will had carnal knowledge of the body of Sarah a Negro Woman Slave the property of the said Carter~

The said Kitt was led to the Bar in Custody of the Sheriff and arraigned of the forementioned and an information being laid against him by John Warden, Gent who prosecuted for the Commonwealth, to which he pleaded not Guilty, and there of he did put himself upon the Court~

according to the form of Act of Afsembly in such Cases made and provided.  Whereupon divers Witnefses were sworn and examined as well on behalf of the Commonwealth, or on behalf of the said Kitt, and the said Kitt fully heard in his own defense On Consideration thereof it is the Unanimous Opinion of the Court that the said Kitt is guilty of the Crimes laid against him, and that he be handed by the neck until he be dead and that the sheriff cause Execution thereof to be done on Tuesday the ninth day of June next between the Hours of ten in the forenoon and four in the Afternoon.

Memorandum The Court valued the said Kitt to One Hundred and Fifty pounds.
