Merry-Ottoman Ferry

"The ferry shall cross from Merry Point to the upper side of the wharf and canning factory at Ottoman wharf."

Crossing the western end of the Corrotoman River, along Rt. 604 (old 644) in Lancaster County, the current ferry is operated by Virginia Department of Transportation.  Regular ferry service has been used here for over 125 years.

 

The current ferry is powered by an engine and guided by underwater cables.
