Thought to have been built by the Lee family as an overseer's cottage, the one-time home of Col. Bronson, Drum Bay Farm was part of the initial patent of Col. Richard Lee, I, dated 1663.  The house was built circa 1698.  A later resident was Edward Colson Newton of Linden.

During a 1963 renovation, the original interior floor plan was removed leaving no trace.
