In the name of God, Amen: I Peter McClanahan, of the County of Westmoreland, Parish of Cople, being sick and weak, though in perfect sense and memory, thanks be to Almighty God for it doth make and ordain that my last will and testament calling to mind the uncertainty of life, knowing that it hath pleased God once to all men to die and as for what worldly goods it has pleased God to bestow on me, I do devise all manner and form the following, Viz:

I give and bequeath to my son Wm. McClanahan all my land, and one negro called Daniel, to him and his heirs, lawfully begotten, and if he should have no such heirs to return to the next heir, and as for the rest of my six children I do give and bequeath all my estate not mentioned both real and personal to be divided between Peter McClanahan, Thomas McClanahan, James McClanahan, Mary McClanahan, betty McClanahan, my son John McClanahan.  And I do appoint my son Wm. McClanahan, my son Thomas McClanahan, and my son Peter McClanahan whole and sole executors of this my Last will and testament.  In witness where of I have hereunto set my hand and seal, this 9th day of January 1775.
